PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Wheelson is a modular trolley attachment for bicycles that helps improve ride stability of cyclists when carrying heavy loads, whilst doubling as a convenient trolley intended for grocery shopping and daily commuting.

DESIGN MOTIVATION

Choices for mode of load transportation within moderate distances include walking, cycling and using public transport. Cycling is a great choice for travelling moderate distances as it is convenient and effortless while being very cheap. However, using bicycles to transport loads can prove to be difficult. Placing loads on a bicycle not only makes it uncomfortable to cycle, it also hinders our ability to handle the bicycle safely.

Mechanical Designer

Designed trolley frame using SOLIDWORKS and performed simulations to analyse structural rigidity of the product
Helped design fastening mechanism that can be adaptable to many different bicycles
